The octopus on this cartoon is Paul, who lives in the zoo of Oberhausen/Germany. It "predicted" the matches of the German team during the World Cup: Two food boxes were put in its aquarium, one had the German flag on it, the other one the flag of the opponent team. When Paul decided for one food box, this team would win the match - and the "predictions" became true. Before the match against Spain, Paul "predicted" a victory for Spain...

Hahaha! That was the first thing my mom thought when they lost. She grumbled and said "They should go home and eat that stupid octopus!"
